"Nuhoniyeh: our story " produced and directed by Alan and Mary Code
attempts to preserve the oral history of the Sayisi Dene people of northern
Manitoba and chronicles their 20-year struggle to gain title to their
traditional homepland. This one hour film is scheduled for broadcast on
NEWSWORLD's * Rough Cuts* March 4" Globe and Mail - sorry I don't have the
exact time. the film won the Canada Award - a special prize for 'multi-
cultural' films [ their phrase, not mine- I find the desgnation of a First
Nations film as 'multicultural' very problematic] - out of 23 submissions.
The citation calls it " amoving tribute and testament to the Sayisis Dene
and exemplifies strong storytelling andproduction skills with few
resources." Sorry that there are no details about how one could obtain
this film to buy or rent. It does not appear to be NFB. Mary Jane Miller

Having just visited Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, I can say with some confidence
that this program will be aired on channel 12 at 12 midnight tonight (Tuesday,
5 March), and again at 8PM this coming Saturday, the 9th. Apologies to those
living in parts of Canada where the only airing may have been on Monday, the
