Subject: Endangered Newt to Visit Stump-town
House Speaker Newt Gingrich will appear at a fund-raiser for Rep. Jim
Bunn on May 19 in Portland at the Red Lion Inn at Portland's Lloyd Center.
Bunn and his chief fund-raiser, Robbie Freres, Jr. of Freres Bros. Lumber in
Mill City. expect to raise $100,000 for Bunn's reelection campaign.
The fund-raiser is from 1 to 3 PM and has three parts. First, a $1,000 per
person private briefing and photo with the Newtster, a $200-per-person
reception and a fund-raiser for Oregon Games Disability Sports (what caring
guys).
Freres and another chief Bunn backer, Jim Morgan, of Young & Morgan Timber
Co. (cutters of Enola Hill) are part of a consortium of ten timber companies
called the Global Resources Management Group which just received $100 million
in tax dollars through the efforts of Bunn, Gingrich and Clinton (through the
late Commerce Secretary Ron Brown) for the sole purpose of liquidating the
Taiga forests of Siberia. Ah, those "local family" mills!!
