[ Though NATIVE-L is still not accepting routine questions, I am making
occasional exceptions, such as in this case, when those asking the
questions are doing serious research and are willing to post their
results. My intent is to make such documents available via the Web.

Please excuse cross-postings:

An Aboriginal health research organization in Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada, is looking for information on health and social survey
questionnaires that are culturally specific to Aboriginal/Native people.
Contact information on persons who have engaged in such work would be
appreciated, as would any published or unpublished written information or
references.

The purpose for which this information is required is the planning of a
provincial survey on the health status of Aboriginal people, from a holistic
perspective, by Aboriginal researchers. The holistic perspective according
to which the survey is to be planned and conducted includes the physical,
mental, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of being.

Other information of interest includes reports on research examining the
health meanings, beliefs, and attitudes of Aboriginal people.

Please reply to me directly and I will summarize and re-post to the list.

With thanks,
