This just in re the problem in Greenfield, Mass. If there is anyone
in the Boston area that can afford a visit to Greenfield then this upcoming
Monday is the time to go. You will note that there is a camping site for
those wish to arrive on Sunday.
Thanks for any attention you might care to give to this and
remember that the Pocumtuc Desecration Petition Page can be found at
http://www.netgate.net/~jsd/pes.html .
There has been no communication from Mr. Mackin or the City of Greenfield.
The archs are supposed to start their dig Monday A.M. We need as many people
as we can get. A real show of force. No one seems to be taking us seriously.
Native and non-native, this is your history. Please, let us stand and not
let it be destroyed because of greed or indifference. Remember the 300 plus
Pocumtuc who were attacked while they were sleeping!!! I cannot emphasis
enough that we will be peaceful. When we meet we will give more details and
coordinate at 9:00. Permission has been given to us by the owners of the
land, so we must respect their property and give thanks to them for helping
us.
On Monday, July 8, the people will be gathering for a peaceful demonstration.
We will meet at 42 Mountain Road at 9:00. From there we will carpool to the
area. We are doing everything we can to prevent any problems. Please
listen to the Elder(s). If you wish to bring poster, banners, etc. that is
okay. For those who wish to do so, they may camp at The Farm the night
before.
