If an email address can be provided to which to send our dismay/protests,
I for one would respond to this sacrilege. I'm sure others would also like
to respond. If protests from all over the world arrive, and it becomes
clear that this is not only a local issue, it should make a difference.

Comments from NativeNet listowner, Gary Trujillo (gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us):
I'd like to suggest that someone volunteer to receive emailed and/or
FAX'd messages of protest if there is still time before Monday to get
them to whoever can issue an order to cease construction on the site
while things are sorted out. I suspect that FAX messages would be more
effective, since they can bear signatures and thus be authenticated more
easily, but I understand that the expense of sending a FAX from the other
side of the world would be far greater than sending electronic mail.
If anyone is willing to coordinate and/or just work on this effort, please
get in touch with me immediately (not by responding to this message, but
by sending mail to "gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us"). I will put those who respond
in touch with one another so that a working group can be formed. You may
want to send a copy of your message to "johnie.leverett@chicopee.com" and
to "jsd@dickshovel.com" - since they are working actively on this issue
and may be the best equipped to coordinate any offers of help.
