We regret to inform you of the sudden passing of Ron LaFrance Sr., Wolf
Clan, of Akwesasne on July 29, 1996 at his home. Ron LaFrance was the
principal negotiator for the united land claim of the Mohawk Nation Council
of Chiefs, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe. Ron
was also the Director of the American Indian Program at Cornell University,
Ithaca N.Y. and held the position of Director for the Akwesasne Mohawk Board
of Education at the time of his death.
People wishing to pay their respects to the family, may do so at the home
of Richard and Phyllis Terrance on McGee Road, Akwesasne. The burial will
be at the Mohawk Nation Longhouse on Thursday, August 1, 1996 at 2:00 pm.
