There will be a 1/2-hour telecast on Wednesday, October 4, at 7:30 pm on

Taino Tribal Chief, Cacike Peter Guanikeyu Torres, Nitayno-na Maria
Anani Jimenez, and Naboria Joanna Nanake Soto Aviles of the Jatibonuco
Taino Tribe of Southern New Jersey.
This broadcast will reach over 2.2 million households in the Pennsylvania,
New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland area. Check with your local cable
company for viewing time and information.
The Taino panel above not only represent the Jatibonuco Taino Tribe of
Southern New Jersey but also represent its New Jersey State incorporated
affiliate, the Taino Inter-Tribal Council, Inc., a national cultural,
education, religious protectorate. In addition, the panel also
represents other Taino tribal circles as requested by the General
Council of Elders in 1994.
This Taino panel will candidly address the current Taino nation state of
affairs, its elders, its people, its cultural and educational goals for
the future, etc. They will be speaking on behalf of the Jatibonuco
Taion tribal government.
Note that the Jatibonuco Tribal Council does not, in any way, claim to
represent the present-day fragmented Taino Indigenous Nation of the
Caribbean and Florida or any other Taino organizations based in the
United States. The Jatibonuco Tribal Council does, however, represent
the Jatibonuco Taino Tribe of Southern New Jersey which is a Taino tribe
recognized by New Jersey tribal governments as a member of the New
Jersey Coalition of American Indians (under the New Jersey Commission on
Indian Affairs) as well as by the Taino Council of Elder in Boriken,
known today as Puerto Rico.
Please do not miss this enlightening and wonderfully informative viewing
opportunity!
