NEWS RELEASE FROM THE NORTH CENTRAL NATIVE AMERICAN VETERANS OUTREACH AND
RESOURCE CENTER:

Urgent call to Minnesota Anishinaabe

General Assembly today at 1 p.m. at the Paradise Room of the Palace Casino.

Re: Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 1996 at 2
p.m. at the Grand Casino in Hinkley.

It has come to the attention of the Leech Lake General Counsel that Steve
Thorne of the Schoesler Law Firm, has drafted a resolution for the TEC to
accept a LAND CLAIMS SETTLEMENT with the United State government.

THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE PUT BEFORE ALL THE TRIBAL MEMBERS OF THE
MINNESOTA CHIPPEWA TRIBE FOR A REFERENDUM VOTE.

This is not a issue to be decided by a select few ! This is the heritage
of our grandchildren.

We urge Members of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe to let their voices be heard.
ATTEND the TEC Meeting at Grand Casino in Hinkley October 10 at 2 pm.
