CBC radio produces a national phone-in program every Sunday at 4:00
EST. It is now available in real-audio format over the internet. You can
get to that by going to http://www.cbc.ca and selecting the radio portion.
You will need software which can be downloaded free of charge. This lets
you use your computer to listen to CBC Radio.

The reason I thought it was important to tell you this now, is
because of the topic this week.
A Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples was constituted immediately
following the standoff at Oka in 1990. It cost 58 million dollars and was
chaired by a fellow by the name of George Erasmus. Mr Erasmus served as
Grand Chief of the Assembly of First Nations here is Canada.

Sunday, November 24th on Cross Country Checkup ...the Royal Commission on
Aboriginal Peoples.
The report -- five years in the making -- recommends sweeping changes in
the way Canada deals with its native people.
Rex Murphy's guests will be George Erasmus and Rene Dusseault, the
co-chairmen of the report.
Listeners are invited to phone-in, talk to Rex and comment on the
report's findings, or question its authors.
