Many of you will have seen an article that was posted on this subject
("http://bioc09.uthscsa.edu/natnet/archive/nl/9612/0004.html") on 30
November 1996 under the heading "Pow-Wow in Bosnia - a gathering of
prayer." There is more information on this gathering to be found in
that article and via the Web page referred to in that article, which
is at "http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3706/" - as well as
via the Web page Scott mentions at the end of his article.
I'll offer a few more comments at the end of this article. --Gary ]
I have been invited to go and hear a plan for peace....not just for Bosnia,
but for the whole world, that must begin with the Native Peoples of North
America. So says the Virgin Mary, who has been appearing in Bosnia daily for
many years!
There are also many of you out there that may be being led to attend this
event also. Remember Close Encounters?
Call me at 801-686-2568 or 686-2567 for details. If no one answers at
686-2567, leave a message with your e-mail address at 686-2568. I will be
sending and checking e-mail every hour or two Saturday (2/8).
Please go to
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3706/
(use exact spelling--include upper case where I use them) to read the
astonishing message about the very sacred things that have been happening in
Bosnia, and why the Virgin Mary (who many believe is White Buffalo Calf
Woman) wants representatives from all Native American Nations to go to Bosnia
and pray for peace. World Wars One and Two started over Bosnia, which has
been called "The Tinderbox of the World."
Please understand that it is very awkward for me to ask, but anyone wishing
to help out with donations of any size to get me over and back, please send
them to:
Scott Anderson "Runningbull"
PO Box 44
LaSal, Utah 84530
I am going because I had a dream a few weeks ago, in which a voice simply
said "Hopi....before it is too late." Hopi means "Peace" in the Hopi
Langauge.
It will take about $2000 to get me over and back, so please help if you can.
Any amount will help! Make Money Orders payable to Scott Anderson. Send to PO
Box 44, LaSal, Utah 84530 Time is of the essence. If you decide to send a
donation, please take the time to send a money order.
I know many of you won't be able to help finanancially, but some of you will.
If you can't help financially, please pray for me, my journey, and world
peace!
Please e-mail me if you are helping with my expenses and how much you are
sending, so I can make concrete plans.
I will share the message of this plan for world peace that is being given by
the Virgin Mary, who many Lakota and others believe was White Buffalo Calf
Pipe Woman. She has been appearing daily in Medjugorje, Bosnia, daily for a
few years.

Comments from NativeNet listowner, Gary Trujillo (gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us):
As I mentioned in a note I attached to the article mentioned in my remarks at
the beginning of this article, I am intensely curious about this phenomenon,
based largely upon what seemed like a fairly levelheaded and objective docu-
mentary presented on the PBS television network several years ago. Here is
another copy of the beginning of the first paragraph of that note:
| There was a PBS documentary aired on this subject in September, 1988
| which was originally produced by the BBC. U.S. production was done by
| WTVS in Detroit, Michigan. The name of the program is "Madonna of
| Medjugorje." One of the script consultants for the program, Mary Craig,
| has written a book on that same subject: _Spark from Heaven: The
| Mystery of the Madonna of Medjugorje_ (Ave Maria Press, Notre Dame,
| Indiana, 1988 (ISBN 0-87793-386-3, paperback)). It was originally
| published by Hodder and Stoughton, Ltd., Sevenoaks, Kent, England.
I also mentioned in my remarks a few reservations I have about the way in
which this "call for peace" is being issued, without reference to historical
wrongs visited upon indigenous peoples in the name of Christianity. But I
like to think I retain an open mind. In fact, it appears that I may be able
to attend this event myself, thanks to sponsorship which is still in the
process of being arranged but which seems fairly secure at the moment. I
have promised to write an account of my experiences at Medjugorje if I do
attend. I will post that account here to NATIVE-L (which is automatically
relayed to "soc.culture.native" and "alt.native" on Usenet and to "indig.
info" on the APC systems around the world.
In any event, this troubled world of ours certainly is much in need of
peace - as well as environmental restoration and a heightened awareness of
the causes and consequences of what I cannot help but feeling is a very
wrong course we have taken during much if not all of recorded history.
Whether we can take another course is "yet to be determined." But in any
case, I think and feel that it is certainly worth seeking solutions wher-
ever they might be found - and there are elements in this phenomenon that
would seem to indicate that something real is going on. Just what that
something is deserves serious investigation (which it seems to have been
receiving, even by those in the scientific community, who have subjected
the children - now young adults - who have reportedly received the regular
visitations that are the main subject of interest and devotion).
Again, I cannot actually endorse Scott's appeal, but I suggest that anyone
who is interested in this matter check out the references listed above and
contact Scott directly if you would like to know more about him and his
reasons for wanting to attend this event.
