Dear Friends:
I have posted this job announcement previously and we are just getting some
movement on filling the position. I hope it is ok if I post it again.
This job opportunity is available in Los Angeles. I have included the draft
Job Description. The Los Angeles Indian Commission is helping in finding
Indian candidates for this position. We have already run into the regular
argument of whether there are "qualified" Indian candidates available.
There are some clarifications for the job description I want to include.
The candidate can have an advanced degree in either mental health or in an
administrative field. Our agreements with the Mental Health department on
the need for an "advanced degree" has been that the candidate should have a
degree and that the rate of pay will be based on the total level of
education by the candidate. Another consideration for any possible
candidate is that the county of Los Angeles allocates an additional 17% of
the salary to pay for the health and insurance of the employee. The
employee is then allowed to pick among the
health plans offered. Whatever funds the employee doesn't use is then
included in the payroll as additional income.
I request that any Indian interested in this position contact our office as
well as the address mentioned in the job description. This will enable the
Commission to track the various candidates. Our e-mail address is:

Thanks, Ron Andrade
