Hello to all,
I am a second year law student at the University of Maine School of
law, as well as a member of Maine's Passamaquoddy Tribe. I am
writing a paper for my Indian law class on religious freedom rights
of Native American prisoners.
I have found quite a bit on info on the Internet regarding this
topic, but it is mostly just bits and pieces of general interest.
I'm trying to make this paper more personalized. Please e-mail me if
you are aware of any related sources. Also, I am interested in
interviewing Native American prisoners in the Maine, Massachusetts,
and New Hampshire areas. If anyone knows any Native Americans
(currently or formerly) spending time in prison who wouldn't mind
sharing their experiences with me, either in person or by mail, please
send me their addresses.
I would be happy to send a final copy of this paper to individual
NATIVE-L subscribers; all I need is an e-mail address. The final
copy should be ready by May 1, 1997.
Send all requests to:
LBROOK51@mail.caps.maine.edu
Thank you all for your help.
