On 28 March 1997, Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hasimoto said, "It is an
historical fact that Ainu People is indigenous people in Japan." It means
that Japanese Prime Minister admitted this fact for the first time.

On 21 March 1997, Japanese government decided the Goverment's plan to
support Ainu People. But the plan only aims to promote their cultural
field, dosen't have, in this texts, financial support of their life,
measure to dissolve discrimination, nor historical recognitions etc..
