According to _The Reporter Dispatch_ (a local Gannett paper) April 17, 1997,
in an article entitled "American Indian GIs allowed to use peyote," the
Pentagon is finally going to implement a ruling permitting the religious
use of peyote by Native American service members. The federal law legalized
the use of peyote for American Indians in 1994. As things were, NA service
members risked court martial in order to observe their faith.
