One of the issues of the A.P.E.C. (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation)
Conference, November 19-24 in Vancouver, Canada, is lack of sensitivity
towards human rights, but it is much more profound for the Indigenous
Peoples as we are talking about genocide of distinct peoples.

Indigenous voices must be heard in an open forum to hear and share our
concerns with others. Issues that Indigenous delegations will address
are: Land, natural resources, human rights, and Intellectual & Property
Rights.

The summit should recommend A.P.E.C. members to sign the I.L.O.
(International Labour Organization) Convention 169 on Indignenous
Peoples Rights which is now with the U.N. Commission on Human Rights.
The Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs is on the Vancouver Steering Committee.
