TO THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL ANTI-NEOLIBERAL CONFERENCE, SPAIN,
JUNE 1997

Saludos revolucionarios! Revolutionary greetings! Salutations
revolutionnaires!

We are honored, from afar, to offer our solidarity to you, our
colleagues and comrades gathered now in Spain, who have come
together to plan and nurture resistance to the neoliberal economy
which threatens us all.

We are ourselves a group of North American environmental activists
meeting in May 1997 in Vermont, USA. We have joined our efforts to
protect the planet and all its living species from any further
destruction caused by economic competition, expansion, and
exploitation. We have come to recognize that capitalism ruins wild
nature and human lives alike.

Against the neoliberal global economy we assert the priority of
our families and communities, of the earth's forests, fields, and
waters, of the creatures of the land and sea, and of the
interrelatedness of all that is social and natural in the world.

In this simple spirit we salute your assembly. As our numbers
continue to grow, we hope that our solidarity and that of
like-minded people around the world will contribute to your
deliberations and to the success of our common revolutionary
project. We share your vision, that we the people of this planet,
together, will ultimately prevail.
