In addition to all this publicity it has been determined that the
number one collectable in the USA is Teddy Bear and Teddy Bear Stories. On
this tour we will introduce a New Childrens Book " Guardians of the Rain
Forest" It is modeled after interior villagers and explains the real value of
Rain Forests. The main character in this book is Heyns the Medicine Bear.
School Children all over the world will soon be following the adventures of
these bears and it will do for the Rain Forest of Suriname what Smokey the
Bear did to prevent forest fires. Everyone in the USA will have a positive
picture of Suriname and Suriname needs a positive picture.
The Japanese consider their natural medicine practitioners national
treasures and it is our hope that at the conclusion of this tour the people of
Suriname will realise that these individuals are National Treasures. It is our
goal and purpose to create an immage of Suriname that transends the old
stereotypes that we read about in the news of Suriname and in almost every
report. We all feel that this is a step in the right direction and will help
all Surinamese feel proud of their unique heratage."Garden Suriname." We hope
as many of you as possible will attend these events.
