Hello, All.

This is just a quick note to let you all know that I haven't had time to do the
repair work needed to restore NativeNet to full operation. It will likely be
at least another week before I am able to work on the problem, unfortunately.

I also wanted to let those in the U.S. know that a story has been announced
on tonight's "All Things Considered" program on National Public Radio (in
the second hour's segment, aired between 5 and 6 PM here in Boston) on the
subject of Indian gaming being conducted via the Internet. The story should
be available from the NPR audio archives within a couple of days. Go to
"http://www.realaudio.com/contentp/npr/atc_index.html" to find the story if
you miss hearing it tonight. The brief intro at the top of the hour featured
the voice of a woman saying that her reservation hosts gaming using a server
on the reservation itself, so it is a legal activity.

I should note that there is an article in the current issue of _WebWeek_
newspaper ("http://www.webweek.com/current/markcomm/19970811-weighs.html")
entitled "U.S. Weighs Pulling Plug on Internet Gambling: Bill in Congress
would shutter casino sites, imprison bettors."

I'm sorry about the short notice on the NPR story - but perhaps some of
you can catch it if you are west of me or if you turn your radio on right
away.

Gary
