Oki1 My name is Jonathan Breaker from the Siksika Nation in southern
Alberta. I am a 4th year Sociology major at then Universtity of Calgary. I
find that scientific aspects in the social sciences are very Euro-centric,
and do not reflect the possibility of other worldviews such as the
Aboriginal. I know there is a big difference between these, but i find it
absolutely conflicting learning the scientific method and then balancing my
traditional values and beliefs. Its difficult to do this and i think that
Aboriginal students in science may experience the problems that go with
living in two worlds. One world where they are aboriginal and another very
modern. I havwe a hard time dealing with this issue and i know others do
too.
thank you
jonathan
