Saago Folks,
In the next 72 hrs, I will be compiling a list of vendors, drum/singing
groups, traditional teachers, storytellers, etc. for your use. I have had
the pleasure of knowing/working with many of these people, so they come with
my personal recommendation. I co-ordinated an elders conference a few years
ago, so I can gather this info for you. I also have experience as a
traditional craft teacher and storyteller for such organizations as First
Nations House, University of Toronto. I also have taught basketry, pottery,
making shakers, chokers and breastplates, etc.etc.etc. But I cannot
volunteer at this time, due to lack of traveling funds. Perhaps this will
change between now and then. But either way, I will help in whatever way I
can.
Question; Do you want TRADITIONAL SINGERS? As in, will not sing for
"competition" pow-wows? But will sing for gatherings, spiritual and social?
I need to know this BEFORE I can pass on some names and phone numbers.
Skenno (peace & good life) Yaskwatut, Clan of the Chewer of Bones, Cord
Wyandotte. Working Name; Michelle Bedard-Hyland.
